Mojo Monks - Top Musicians
Denny started singing and playing guitar at the age of 12 and has always approached his music with a passion. Following in-step with his older brothers and sister, Denny has been entertaining professionally since his late teens. After playing in St. Paul clubs with The Change through the late '80's and early '90's, Denny took time off from the music scene to raise his three daughters with his wife Jo (who is the manager of the MoJo Monks). In 2009 Denny decided it was time to get back into a band and joined the Mojo Monks that were just beginning. As a founding member of the band, he is honored to continue his monastic journey with The MoJo Monks.
Denny -Guitar/Vocals
Meagan-Lead Vocals
Meagan started singing at the age of 4 and won in her first talent show at the age of 6. When she was 9 years old, she joined Stagedoor Players in New Richmond, WI. While a member of Stagedoor, she enjoyed performing in many plays, musicals, and mini musicals. It also opened many doors including, performing at Disney World when she was 10 & 13 and lots of Christmas shows at Mall of America. Throughout middle school and high school, she sang in local talent shows, the school choirs, and solo ensemble. In 2007, Meagan had her first experience singing with a live band. From there she sang with a few variety bands and country bands. In 2013, she found her niche singing a variety of songs from the 80’s, including a mini-Journey tribute show. She is excited to be a member of The Mojo Monks!
Jules - Bass & Vocals
Jules’s musical training began at an early age on the violin, where he played in the school orchestra until the age of 12. As a teenager, he took up bass guitar, enjoying how the instrument plays roles in both rhythm and melody. He soon formed a band with two classmates, and the young trio played their first gig at age 15. Over the years he’s provided low-end and vocal support for several popular local acts. As a member of the band’s rhythm section, Jules provides the pulse that keeps the dance floor
moving all night long!
Troy - Percussion
Troy has played in rock, country, jazz, drum corps, hip-hop, pop, and percussion ensembles for the past 30 years. He is a 2 time snare drum solo world champion and has played with the Minnesota Vikings Drumline. In his free time, he is a devoted husband and father and a huge fan of all Minnesota sports teams.
JON -Keyboards
Jon has been involved with music for over 50 years, starting with piano lessons and singing at the tender age of 5. Having grown up in a musical family, Jon has been blessed with the rare ability to play almost any song by ear. Growing up in the small town of Wadena, Minnesota, he was actively involved in various music projects, especially junior and senior high school band and choir. He even played drums for the high school stage band. As Jon continued his education, he moved to Northwestern College to pursue a degree in Music Performance. After his college education, he joined the Twin cities live music scene and has been involved in bands for the past 30 years. He also teaches piano in his spare time to children and adults and is a part-time salaried church organist. Jon is excited to be a part of this new adventure rocking as the newest member of the Mojo Monks!!!
